Students from Years 9 and 10 attended the Hay Scribblers Tour in Swansea University last week.
The group of students participated in a number of creative writing workshops and met authors Nicky Singer, Alex Wheatle and Jenny Valentine, who discussed a number of topics including climate change, migration and the importance of books for education. The students also planned their own mystery story using their surroundings as inspiration.
The day was highly enjoyable, with the students fully engaging in the activities. The authors praised the students for their enthusiasm and positivity. A future trip to the Hay Festival is planned for May. Both these trips are possible thanks to a generous grant from the Arts Council Wales.
