Dear parents and carers,
Thank you for your understanding and support given the need for school closure today, As stated previously, the decision was not taken lightly. Despite the best efforts of our site team to make the site safe to open, additional snow overnight, severe ice and freezing temperatures meant that this was not possible. As you are aware, our school site is large, exposed and at the top of a hill, therefore the routes to the school were also compromised, as were the walkways between the numerous outbuildings that comprise our school.
Work has continued tirelessly today, clearing snow and ice, and gritting and salting the site. With temperatures now due to drop again, a final assessment of safety will be carried out at the end of sunlight hours to inform our decision as to whether we can safely open tomorrow. Please check ClassCharts for the update which will be provided.
Thank you.
Mrs Pole
