AS Politics Class Visits the Welsh Assembly

Updated: May 9, 2019

The Year 12 Government and Politics class visited the Senedd, the home of the Welsh Assembly.

As part of their programme of study, students examine the work of the Welsh Government and devolution in the UK. To support their learning, the class visited the Senedd and spent the day there. Students met Mike Hedges, the Assembly Member for Swansea East and discussed his role and local issues. The students also had a tour of the Senedd and attended a plenary session, where AMs discussed Brexit and the controversial M4 relief road. The students were given the opportunity to sit in the Siambr and participate in their own political debate.

The students enjoyed the day and agreed it was a valuable opportunity to learn about politics in practice.
